Fife & Drum Muster & Soldiers’ Field Day • Fort George

Fort George National Historic Site is hosting the 27th annual Fife & Drum Muster and Soldiers’ Field Day, a full‑day celebration of music, marching, and military heritage. This long‑running event brings together fife and drum corps from across North America, along with historical military units who demonstrate drill, musketry, and camp life throughout the fort.

Visitors can enjoy performances from multiple corps as they parade, compete, and showcase 18th‑ and 19th‑century military music traditions. Throughout the day, soldiers and reenactors present field demonstrations, tactical displays, and interpretive programs that highlight the life of the common soldier during the War of 1812.

Families can explore the fort’s historic buildings, meet interpreters, and experience the sights and sounds of military music echoing across the parade square. It’s an excellent opportunity for anyone interested in early Canadian history, military heritage, and hands‑on museum programming.
